Johanna Griggs is a darling of Australian sport and television. Most recently known for her role presenting the Channel Seven program Better Homes and Gardens, Johanna is one of Australia’s finest former swimming champions. Jo is focused, friendly and intelligent making her the ideal corporate host and MC. A true professional with the ability to make her audience feel at ease and ensures every event runs smoothly.
As an athlete, Johanna competed against the world’s best. As a broadcaster, she currently hosts the coverage of some of the biggest sporting events including the Olympic Games, The Winter Games, The Australian Open, the Brisbane International and the Medibank International.
Previous experience
TV: After announcing her retirement from swimming in May 1993, Johanna joined the Seven Network. She reported for shows such as Sportsworld and Sydney Weekender, and hosted The AFL Half Time Show.
In 1994 she became Channel Seven’s first female (and youngest ever) presenter of the Weekend Sports News, a job she returns to in 2009. She is also the host of the very successful Seven Network’s Better Homes and Gardens, and currently the Ambassador for New Idea, writing regularly for the magazine.
She was also a regular guest on ABC TV’s sports panel show, The Fat, and ABC TV’s Good News Week, also appearing on the show on the Ten Network.
Accolades: One of Johanna’s greatest accolades was being chosen to host the coverage of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games for the Seven Network. This is the first time an Australian woman has solely hosted an Olympics’ coverage.
