Jane Flemming is managing director and proprietor of the sponsorship and marketing company, Flemming Promotions (FP), providing marketing advice to corporations in Australia and the UK, its clients include Cadbury’s, Samsung, British Airways and Coates Hire.
FP has successfully developed corporate sponsorship strategies and implemented major multi-million dollar sponsorships on behalf of it’s clients. Some of those programmes are now held as best practice examples. It specialises in developing and implementing unique high-end marketing strategies, to influence key decisions makers on behalf of clients.
Current experience:
Jane Flemming is also a well known Australian sporting personality. During her sporting career, she was a dual Olympian representative, duel Commonwealth Games Gold medallist and dual Silver medallist. She held 13 national titles and records in elite competition. She remains the Commonwealth Games Heptathlon record holder (set in 1990).
Previous experience:
Jane retired from representative athletics in 1997 to focus on a marketing, media and commercial career. She has worked for Channels 7, 9, 10 and SBS and radio, presenting nightly sports news, in Olympic, Commonwealth and World Championship commentary roles as well as appearing as a host and special guest. She is a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers, and provides sponsorship and marketing expertise to a number of high profile publicly listed companies.
She commentated track and field at the London Olympic Games in 2012 (her fifth Olympic Games as a commentator) and in July 2014, Jane headed to Glasgow to commentate on her fourth Commonwealth Games for the International Host Broadcaster. In August she travelled to Beijing for the World Athletic Championships where she again commentated for the host broadcaster. In 2016 Jane made making a number of media appearances with expert commentary and observations on the Rio Olympics.
Amongst her activities, Jane also operated a successful merchandising business from 1996 to 2001 and wrote and published a book “Fast Track to Success”.
In 2013 Jane became a founding Director of a community health initiative, LIVE LIVE GET ACTIVE (“LLGA”). LLGA looks to build a fitter, healthier and happier Australia by delivering FREE health, fitness and nutritional initiatives both online and in the parks, suburbs and cities of Australia. LLGA has now launched more than 110+ sites across 6 Australian states.
Jane devotes a significant amount of her time to charities including as director of the “Humpty Dumpty Foundation” (since 2006) and is an ambassador for the “The National Breast Cancer Foundation” (since 1998). In 2007 she walked the Kokoda Track raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and in 2010 climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise in excess of $1 million for Humpty Dumpty Foundation. In 2016 Jane also walked across the Tasmanian overland track.
Jane is also a highly experienced and popular keynote conference speaker and MC.
Jane was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her services to Athletics and the community in 2014 and in 2016 was a named in Westpac’s and the Financial reviews Australia’s list of 100 most influential women.
