Holley Somerville-Knott

Holley Somerville-Knott is literally cleaning up the environment. Founder of social enterprise and advocacy business, ‘Tell Someone Who Cares’, Holley is dedicated to disrupting the palm oil industry with her alternative coconut personal care products. Substituting palm oil for illipe seeds, her ‘Soap the Saves Rainforests!’ skincare line is universally-friendly and created to protect Boneo’s rainforests, wildlife, animals and humankind. Every soap purchase helps to regenerate forestry, promote fair trade rights and protect endangered wildlife – oh, and did we mention Holley is just 15 years old?

Holley’s determination to reforest animal habitation and bushlands has seen Holley evolve her brand into an inspiring movement – ‘BE the Solution’ – which helps raise awareness around orangutan adoption, charitable merchandise and ‘Rainforest Action Day’.

Current Work

Holley’s social enterprise business ‘Tell Someone Who Cares’ is a consumer movement that gives consumers the opportunity to create change with their every day purchases. It doubles as an educational platform and a way for youth to unite, connect and find their purpose and passion.

Speaker: A regular guest speaker for major organisations, events and conferences, Holley has been a keynote presenter for CommBank, Bond University, United Nations Australia, New Zealand Festival of the Future.

Achievements: Holley founded her own charity at age eight to help people, planet and animals in need and used her powerful voice to raise money and awareness.

She has won many awards including the NSW Government Green Globe Youth Sustainability Champion, Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year (twice), youngest ever top-3 Finalist in NSW Young Achiever Awards.

Holley was awarded the Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Scholarship, which provided ongoing mentoring and financial support for her enterprise.

In 2019, Sandra Sully quietly assembled her ‘dream team’ of Australian women for a passion project to celebrate International Women’s Day: AGENDA Empowering Australian Women. Featuring trailblazers of all ages, from Dame Quentin Bryce, Kate Jenkins and Turia Pitt – Holley was not only featured in the book but was invited to accompany Sully on the PR tour for the launch.

Most recently, Holley was named the youngest ever Finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards in recognition for her deep passion for sustainability and desire to create positive change for the world.

Film: Holley has been filmed for an HBO documentary and with ABC TV for a feature for United Nations International Day of the Girl.

Song: Holley was invited for two consecutive years to sing the opening of the Gala Awards for the NSW Young Achiever Awards, sang at the International Women’s Day launch of Sandra Sully’s book as well as has been the headline and support act for intimate and gala events. Holley has her own soul, rock, blues, folk and funk band.
