Captain Frodo

Unique modern day showman.

Profile

Captain Frodo is a third generation showman. He spent his childhood on the road as an assistant in his Dad’s magic show, and has worked with Circus Oz, Spiegelworld’s Vegas Nocturne production and Zirkus Nemo in Denmark.

Previous experience

Entertainer: Born double-jointed, Frodo has been performing since he was four. He is famed the world over for being able to bend, contort and manipulate his body into astonishing shapes. He holds two Guinness World Records and has performed internationally as a contortionist and sword swallower. The solo show based on his life, The Adventures of Captain Frodo: Tales of a Modern Day Showman, premiered at the 2006 Adelaide Fringe Festival. He has performed in London, Paris, Montreal, Edinburgh, New York, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland as a star attraction in the internationally successful La Clique. His many television appearances include, but are not limited to, Montreal’s Just for Laughs, BBC’s When Will I be Famous and RTE’s The Late Late Show in Ireland.

Shows: Captain Frodo was a founding member of The Happy Sideshow: the cult show which, at the end of the last millennium, brought the almost extinct art of the circus sideshow back onto the Australian circus scene. The last decade he has been touring the world with the hit cabaret group La Soiree. Originally from Norway, he now calls Australia home.
