Billie Murphy is an educator and experienced facilitator who specialises in working with our partners to deliver an exceptional program that enhances wellbeing and broadens their understanding of global citizenship and the Sustainable Development Goals.
As a qualified primary school teacher from England, Billie moved to Brisbane, Australia in 2017. She booked an AirBnb where she serendipitously met the Founder & CEO of SolarBuddy, Simon Doble. Soon after, Billie joined the organisation as the Education Programs Manager, responsible for enhancing and scaling their education program worldwide and is now the General Manager for SolarBuddy.
Billie has become an accomplished keynote speaker presenting the SolarBuddy story at corporate and school events all over the world to audiences up to 1000 people. She is passionate about educating others and empowering them to become change makers and have a positive impact in the world.
Previous Experience
Football: Billie is a former professional footballer, she represented England at various elite competitions.
Education: She studied Biological Sciences and completed a Master of Education at The University of Leeds.

I would just like to take a moment to acknowledge an extraordinary woman, Billie Murphy. We recently held our annual conference for nearly 300 people on the Gold Coast and Billie presented on behalf of Solar Buddy where she works as GM - Education. This was a corporate audience, at the end of a two day conference, and most of them were probably thinking about their flight home, until Billie stepped on stage. She had great presence and delivered her message about energy poverty with knowledge and authority followed by an amazing session which she facilitated, where the audience assembled solar lights to be sent to children in developing countries. The post conference surveys were incredibly positive and I would have no hesitation in recommending Billie and Solar Buddy to any organisation looking to add an element of purpose to their conference or workshop.
