Biography
Stewart R. Clegg is a Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney, and Director of ICAN Research (Innovative Collaborations, Alliances and Networks Research), a Key University Research Centre of the University.
Born in Bradford, England, he migrated to Australia in 1976, after completing a first degree at the University of Aston (1971) and a Doctorate at Bradford University (1974). Previously he held positions at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland; University of New England; University of Western Sydney, in all of which he was Professor and Head of Department, and Griffith University, Brisbane, where he was Reader. Currently he also holds Visiting Positions at Aston Business School, UK; Maastricht Business Faculty, Netherlands and at the Cultuur, Organisatie en Management (Department of Culture, Organisation and Management) Faculteit der Sociale Wetenschappen (Faculty of Social Sciences) Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
He has consulted widely, including the Sunday Times and the Australian Financial Review, on their "Power Lists"; the Scottish textile industry; TAFE NSW, universities in Australia and overseas, Corporate Law Firms, and Standards Australia.
