Matthew Hardy was born in Glen Waverley, Victoria. Before moving Melbourne to London in 1992, he was a freelance writer for The Age and was named Best New Comic. He was a writer for the Coodabeen Champions radio shows, and had a number of his footy songs featured on Greg Champion's That's What I Like About Football album.

Matthew can be heard on Melbourne's hottest new sports/talk back radio network SEN (Sports Entertainment Network) as the co-host of the Drive program with Dermott Brereton and Anthony Hudson.
