As CEO of Science & Technology Australia and co-Chair of the National Research and Innovation Alliance, Kylie Walker specialises in imagining futures and connecting and empowering people to elevate the role and impact of Australian science and technology.

She is the current Chair of the Australian National Commission for UNESCO, leading experts in education, culture, science, and social science to steer Australia's membership of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and mobilise national and international networks to create positive change for the nation's most marginalised populations - and celebrate Australia's most significant cultural, creative, and environmental heritage.

She is a strong advocate for responsible and inclusive leadership, creating pathways to visibility for those whose voices have been diminished by sexism, homophobia, racism, domestic violence, life-threatening illness, and workplace harassment.

As the creator of the Superstars of STEM program, she’s a passionate campaigner for equity, diversity and inclusion and a change-maker for gender equity. Having played an instrumental role in building support for and access to the Domestic Violence Crisis Service in the ACT, Kylie was proud to join the steering committee for the new anti-workplace harassment agency NOW Australia.

The 2015 winner of the Australian Science Communicators' Unsung Hero of Science Communication award for her significant national contributions to science communication, she’s also a visiting Fellow at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS).
