After surviving brutal interrogations, torture and mock executions in a secret communist prison camp, Kay Danes has become an inspirational speaker on a world stage.

Kay Danes is an extraordinary speaker who commands the attention of her audience. She is funny, articulate and compelling. Her messages of courage and resilience will inspire YOU!

A remarkable woman who has an incredible life story. Kay has overcome many personal challenges, including torture, following a horrific hostage ordeal she and her husband endured in 2000, when working as Security Managers in a communist state.

As a former director of security and later, a humanitarian aid worker, Kay Danes has provided consultation to many groups, including the Australian Institute of Export, the National Human Rights Commission of Australia on the treatment of people under arrest or detained in prison, the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties, and the secretary to the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture (promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism and torture.)

Kay has addressed several U.S. Congressional forums on democracy (2002, 2005, 2009), the US National Press Club (2009), and the Conference on World Affairs (2009) with an audience of 91,000, previously attended by Eleanor Roosevelt and US Vice-President Joe Biden.

Kay's presentations address key issues when working in a war zone, which became part of a National Debate in Australia on Afghanistan.

Kay Danes is a tireless humanitarian with over 15 years aid work experience in some of the most hostile countries on this planet. Her commitment to bridging communities through understanding and empathy, is recognised by senior Government officials in Australia and overseas.

Kay's thought provoking presentations will leave YOUR audience wanting more!

Kay is the author of Families Behind Bars, Standing Ground and Beneath the Pale Blue Burqa.
