As a headline player in the AFLW since its 2017 inception, Katie Brennan has a wealth of involvement in speaking in different formats and across different audiences.
With extensive experience as a leader and captain across two AFLW clubs, the Western Bulldogs and Richmond Tigers, Katie is well versed in the challenges and hardship leadership can bring, but also the personal reward you get from investing in people and seeing their growth and development.
Current Work:
Passionate about high-performance culture, Katie applies her learned techniques and mindset to not only her professional but personal life. She has had to show great resilience across her sporting career, suffering key injuries, performance setbacks, high-level public scrutiny, and having to start from scratch in a club move to Richmond in 2020. Katie enjoys the process of goal setting, both breaking it down and mapping it out, to keep her focused and driven towards achievement.
As a young girl, Katie didn’t have a space to go to for training that she felt comfortable in to be able to further herself physically which inspired the concept and development of her own business Performance, aiming to educate, inspire, and empower women on and off the field in what is a women‘s only elite performance space. Her business has continued to evolve and grow throughout the pandemic, but she’s had to be agile and shift her focus, moving to develop online workouts for the corporate sector.
With a self-perspective, Katie understands she is an all-or-nothing person and has learned how to work smarter, not harder, to make her life more efficient. Her outside interests, including her business and current house renovation, are important to Katie to take her mind of things and provide her with much-needed time out and balance to her life.
