Breeanna Brock

The Frst Female CEO in the AFL

Profile

Breeanna Brock was the first female CEO to be appointed in the AFL. In her 11-year tenure in female football, she has cemented Queensland’s reputation as one of the powerhouse states for women’s AFL.

By establishing the Brisbane Lion’s inaugural women’s team in 2017, they have enjoyed unrivalled success. Featuring in 5 of the 7 Grand Finals, the Lions have 2 Premierships to their name and boast a host of home-grown talent. 83% of their list are Queenslanders.

Breeanna has created a full-playing pathway for the women and girls of Queensland. With access to this elite, high-performing environment, females are no longer forced to abandon a game they love due to a lack of professional opportunity.

Awarded the AFL Football Woman of the Year award in 2018, and inducted into the AFL Queensland Hall of Fame in 2023, her work in driving female representation in sports has led to creating a more level, gender-balanced, playing field for Women’s Football in Queensland.

The daughter of a diplomat, Breeanna spent her early years growing up overseas. Lucky enough to have lived in England, Greece, Pakistan and Kenya her childhood helped shape her into an accidental feminist.
