Doug Walters’ popularity as one of Australia’s cricketing legends has continued long after his retirement from first class cricket. At the age of 19 he was the third youngest to score a test century.
Previous experience:
Doug has been very much involved in cricket – commentating on Test Matches for GTV 9, participating in the Tooheys Country Cup Matches and conducting coaching clinics for youngsters.
Renowned for his humour Doug’s love of practical jokes is reflected in the many stories featured in his book One for the Road.

Spoke well and hung around afterwards for a few drinks, which went beyond the call of duty. Very entertaining.
Doug went down an absolute treat and it was so perfect that he was there on the day that Australia did so well at the Cricket. We had a large plasma television screen in the foyer and we could not get people to leave the function. Doug sat pride of place at the front and saw Australia to its victory. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.
He was extremely funny and very entertaining.
