His eclectic voice fuses current pop songs with a jazz feel offering a sophisticated yet funky sound that always keeps you guessing. Catering for all audiences ranging from Lady Gaga to Sinatra, Dan finds a way to blend the two together in a musical cocktail that is to be shaken, not stirred. Previous experience

Awards: Hailing from Perth, Dan Hamill began his performing career in earnest by winning the West Australian Young Performer of the Year consecutively in 2002 and 2003 at STARSEARCH, no mean feat for a 17 year old up against the state’s finest up and coming performers.

WAAPA: In 2003 he auditioned for and accepted a much coveted place at the prestigious WAAPA (Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts), embarking on a Diploma of Contemporary Voice. During this time he fine tuned his knowledge of song writing and singing pop, R&B and jazz.

TV: In 2004, at 18 years old, Dan was a Top 10 finalist for Channel 7’s Popstars Live, competing against the likes of Rickie Lee Coulter. During the show a group album and music video was recorded with Universal Records, resulting in a Gold ARIA award for the Finalist Album. Following Popstars, Daniel was in heavy demand for live vocal performances and appearances.

He has appeared on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon Kids, 110% Tony Spires and My Restaurant Rules, with performances for the AFL, QANTAS, Wildcats and Hopman Cup among others. He has performed at a number of charity events with guest performances for the Channel 7 Telethon, the Red Cross, Make a Wish Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Music: After the Popstars publicity, Dan relocated to Sydney for a year, to work on a pop album, writing with the likes of Australia’s legendary song writer Rick Price, and performing extensively. In 2005 he came second in the MUSIC OZ Australian Song Writing Awards in the RnB Division.

Film: On screen Dan has appeared in television commercials, several short films and a feature film, as well as guest lead roles on City Homicide and Neighbours (the latter named among TV WEEK‘s ‘Best Neighbours Moments of 2011’. Dan is also one of the main characters on animated international cartoon series Shezew, which aired on Channel 10 and in the US.

Theatreb> In 2010/11 Dan was a member of the Australian touring production of West Side Story in the role of Action and as understudy for the lead role of Tony. Singled out in a number of reviews for his strong performances, the Sydney Herald noting that he ‘steals the show… hot headed and and overly aggressive, Hamill is everything you love and loathe about the character.’
